Raffaellesco

Ceramic serving plates with Raffaellesco pattern

Ceramic dinnerware with Raffaellesco pattern, handmade and handpainted in our factory in Deruta.

The origin of this style and, of course, of this name is due to the great artist Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520) and his master Pietro Vannucci, known as "The Perugino" (1448-1523). Raffaello used to decorate the borders of his paintings with drawings of dragons and symbolic animals. Artisans of the late 1500 period copied these decorations and adapted them to their necessities, giving birth to one of the most known "Derutese" pattern.
